CATARMAN, Northern Samar, Sept. 18 (PIA) -- The Provincial Government of Northern Samar in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency launched the first among the series of development communication workshops for the information officers all over the province held at the Haven of Fun Beach Resort, San Antonio town, on September 10-12, 2019.
The gathering of Community Development Information Officers aims to further develop the skills of government communicators in conveying advocacy messages and packaging information to the public, said Jhon Allen Berbon, provincial information officer.
The two-day activities focused mainly on basic news writing, social media landscape/ethics, and Journalism ethics among others.
Review on Localizing Sustainable Development Goals was also given emphasis for the information officers to be aware of the Ambisyon Natin 2040 and/or Nortehanon 2040 "Marig-on, Mainuswagon, Malipayon."
This is just the first among the series of communication development lectures for the Information Officers to be guided in the communication work in their respective area.
Strengthening free flow of public information and creating a venue for participative interaction is the foremost end goal of the planned action. (LDL/ADiaz/PIA-Northern Samar)
